Advantage West
Advantage West is Western North Carolina’s regional economic development partnership tasked with strengthening the economy of the mountain counties. Since its inception in 1994, AdvantageWest has advanced a diverse strategy of programs to meet the unique and changing needs of the region. This has earned them a reputation as one of the most progressive economic development commissions in the nation.
Western North Carolina has become a hub for Local + Social + Sustainable businesses. From agriculture to green energy, craft brewing and outdoor products, the region has made great strides in developing these new enterprises. Synergetic Strategies was excited when approached by AdvantageWest to develop a day-long conference to accelerate these sustainable solutions.
We were happy to produce this conference that brought together the various components of WNC’s sustainable economy to foster connections and accelerate community capital across all stages of social entrepreneurship. Highlights from this project included 500+ attendees from each important local economic sector (food, energy, etc), more than $10,000 in sponsorships and in-kind donations, and consulted with venue to redevelop supply chain to source all food locally for farm-to-table meals.
