Ben Scales for District Attorney
MDTMT’s mission is to foster the development of boys to become healthy, honorable men. The organization leads a youth development program designed to support young men from disadvantaged backgrounds through advocacy, education, and mentoring. In coordination with partner entity “My Sista Taught Me That”, these organizations have the goal of positively impacting the lives of youth throughout the community.
Asheville has some stark numbers when it comes to racial disparities. The achievement gap in City schools is one of the worst in the nation, and the median household wealth index for African-Americans remains one of the lowest in the state. Too many youth of color are falling through the cracks, and that’s where organizations like My Daddy Taught Me That have stepped up to give these kids a fighting chance at a better future.
Synergetic Strategies was honored to assist this organization in becoming even more impactful by helping to build capacity at a crucial growth moment. We worked directly with Executive Director Keynon Lake to identify fundraising opportunities, helped develop a strategic plan to pursue said opportunities, and created a database to track the conversion of these prospects. Additionally, we consulted on annual events to help grow their list of potential donors and volunteers. It was rewarding to help this organization on the path to long-term viability.
